Assessment methods

Multiple courses in the pre-clerkship curriculum have added additional forms of assessment, including narrative assessment, written assignments, oral presentations and team-based learning quizzes. Additionally, individualized assessments of problem-solving and clinical-reasoning skills have been integrated into several courses. These additional assessments were integrated to ensure medical students are adequately prepared for the responsibilities of patient care and safety. These additional assessments prepare medical students for the responsibilities of patient care by providing students opportunities to develop clinical reasoning and medical problem-solving skills.
